I just read what Neil Davidson — and others — wrote on the FB message. The process he describes (starting with facilitators etc.) comes very close to what we call ‘hosting’ in the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matters global network. He also describes some of the aspects which we call ‘harvesting’ — seeing the system by the system, uncover the principles, articulating the emergent insights etc.
That brings me to a practice what I would add in your list of 4 — or replace number 4 with it: collective sensemaking. The ecosystem only starts to see itself, or understands what it knows by ‘collectively’ making sense — be in a conversation (best a generative conversation as described by Otto Scharmer) together around a question like: what is it that we now see? or now understand we didn’t before?. That is way different than each of us ‘sharing back our insights’.
I’m not saying there isn’t value in the latter, but it is not the best format of symmathesy, the learning together. My point of view is that we need to be a team, a group that ‘behaves’ as an ecosystem to get out the most of the learning. So, I would see #4 or as #5: a hosted conversation on these kind of learnings — with best each of the participants share their learnings in their own way.
My two cents for now.
