How long do you want to care about this?
Jason Chatfield

Every time I see people changing their profile picture according to the most recent tragic event my mind goes immediately wondering about the point when they will switch back. I understand that adopting a specific logo or colour is an impulsive choice motivated by consternation and solidarity but what motivates a change back to normal? When do people decide it’s time to go back to the old profile pic?

I wasn’t aware of this function but I it fittingly closes the circle of the mass solidarity on Facebook. Now I will be asking myself how long have the people with the profile photo du jour chosen to care about that.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
