Mr Glasser’s point must in my opinion be joined with the admonition to journalists: do your homework. It is completely insufficient for the journalist to “report truth about fact” if the truth is just their own opinion.

It is probably also insufficient to fail to highlight the legitimate aspects of the weak facts. For example, Trump is a package deal which is not attractive. However he has many adherents who see their blue collar jobs and positions as completely and thoroughly ignored by government and journalists today. So yes, report truth about fact for Trump, but also report truth about the situation of the Trump supporter.

When you take away Trump’s voice, do not think you are done. The journalist must supply the voice of the blue collar man out of a job for 10 years.
