You Can’t Be Socially Progressive and Economically Conservative
Mike Epifani

This is an argument that has been making the rounds lately. Anything to keep people from moving away from far left liberalism towards more libertarian world views.

There’s so much wrong with this essay it would take more time than I’m willing to spend breaking it down. The point of this line of thinking is to redefine and expand “socially liberal”. For example, universal healthcare was never a socially liberal idea, just a left wing progressive idea.

So define people anyway you want, but just admit that all you really want is to shame and take by force other people’s money that you define as not honestly earned through some prism of social importance.

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
