What about objects that create experiences?

My father and restored a corvette in high school. It taught me patience, self reliance, self confidence. At the end I got to drive a corvette to my prom. I still have the pictures. I still use those lessons.

I am now restoring an old Porsche with my son. He is only four, but I hope he learns too. If not, we will restore another.
