Great summary — and “Memento” is that rare film for which a summary is helpful for people who have not seen the film.

On an unrelated point, you were talking about the Brendon Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley “Bedazzled” in your good bad movie dunk podcast with the Podfather. That terrible movie is a remake of an all-time classic comedy, also called “Bedazzled,” directed by Stanley Donen and starring Dudley Moore (long before “10” and “Arthur”), Peter Cook, Eleanor Bron, and Raquel Welch (as Lust). The original is hilarious; the remake is awful.

Hearing you praise the remake without mentioning the original was like hearing someone say “Battle Beyond the Stars” is great without mentioning “Seven Samurai” or even “The Magnificent Seven” — the original, of course.
