Yeah, you’ve got a point. I was thinking, though, Smalltalk isn’t as great as it was in the 1980s and early 1990s (when IBM selected Smalltalk as the centrepiece of their VisualAge enterprise initiative to replace COBOL). At one time, Smalltalk had the opportunity to become the enterprise programming language, a role that Java subsequently usurped. Imagine what could’ve been! Imagine the possibilities!
So just like in today’s political climate, we are fighting for a revitalized future where a once-great language can be great once again. #MakeSmalltalkGreatAgain.
