Help make Smalltalk soar again
Smalltalk reached its zenith in the 1990s when IBM chose it as the centrepiece of their VisualAge enterprise initiative to replace COBOL. In other words, Smalltalk almost became the enterprise programming language! (That role was eventually usurped by Java.) There’s no reason why Smalltalk cannot soar to greatness again. It has all the right stuff: 1) it’s a beautiful and powerful language; 2) it’s super productive; 3) it has a live coding and debugging environment unmatched by anything today (the IDE gives you instant feedback for coding changes!). And it’s being used everywhere…web, desktop, mobile, robotics, Internet of Things, machine learning, etc.
Help make it so.
