Street photography? Is it an overkill?

Hey Paul!

Generally I believe that quantity breeds quality however, in the case of “street” photography displayed on general social and photo-specific networks I’m seeing quantity simply breeding more quantity. Rather than seeing photographers improving or providing statement-making images, I’m just seeing more and more very marginal images. I think a lot of this quantity is the result of our need to fill the vacuum of the internet. By that I mean that there are so many networks and opportunities to “publish” images that quality just gets buried and we get tired looking at it all. What to do? I, for one, plan to concentrate on my own work first and on the work of others that I admire second. You must be pleased with your own work first and foremost. Cheers.
