A strange digital time capsule
Paul Ford

Windows NT from this time was so horrendous (as opposed to its rock-solid competitor, Novell) it’s one of the principal reasons I left IT. At the same time, a friend of mine had paid $10,000 for a series of classes in order to learn to be an IT person. When asked why NT had so many problems and had to be rebooted so often, the response was, “That’s just the way NT is.” She walked away, left the class, and didn’t even try to get her $10,000 back.
