You wrote that when someone expresses an opinion you don’t agree with, you experience this as a micro agression. My concern is that this will cause you to shut out different opinions, possibly even by trying to stop people with different opinions from yours from expressing themselves. You’ll wind up in a very one dimensional world where you’re scared every day about saying anything that may be miscontrued as offensive to any of your friends.
I truly believe your life will be happier and more interesting if you learn to constructively respond to opinions you disagree with. Maybe by asking questions of the other person, to reveal flaws in their reasoning. Or by explaining your alternative point of view.
We’re all complex human beings with a right to have and express our own opinions, irrespective of our gender, race, religion, etc.
