Jasmine, excellent article. I like the workflow chart and will definitely be using as a project framework. As a jumping off point for a portfolio I think data for good is a great way to get engaged with the data. Also when it comes to social issues, reading peer reviewed social science journal articles on the topic is a great way to get inspiration for your model, or even try to recreate another researcher’s model with different data and compare outcomes. If you get a different result, investigate why and do some more reading. Being able to compare your model to another experiment and explain the differences is a great way to build an analytical mindset.
