Hi Tim (again!),

I understand your complaint that this letter doesn’t address everyone.

It was never my intention to do so.

In fact, you said “if you are going to be so focused you need to say so.”

I do say so. In fact, I said so in my first letter:

“If you’re in your 20’s, recently graduated and working in the US, this is EXACTLY for you.”

Sure, the advice doesn’t apply to everyone. But it would take A LONG TIME for me to write about everyone’s scenario.

“If you’re picking a place to live it’s better to pick a place near work… Unless:

  • you work in a rocket launch pad.
  • you have kids so in fact you need a place closer to their school.
  • etc… etc…”

It would take me an entire book to address every person’s “unless”.

Hence why I talk about the main principles. Commuting is expensive, pick a place closer to work.

I hope this helps clarify things.
