I’d like to see the video, I’m sure it would help clarify what really happened.
Whether they were drinking or not is irrelevant. Whether they were armed is another issue, but still not that relevant as I’ve read nothing about them pointing anything at any officers.
What “is” relevant is whether or not they were using the vehicle to put someone’s life in danger or not. If the officer had a reason to fear for their life or the life of another then deadly force is permissible, otherwise it is not.
As to the lawyer, I’m assuming he’s looking to make money on this, so he’s obviously going to present things in the manner most likely to to increase his personal fame and fortune.
