Instagram Is Ruining Vacation
Mary Pilon

I have a strict policy when people ask for pictures of my vacation, it begins with “let me tell you a story,” and ends with “now go and see it for yourself.” I’m not trying to be cold about their desire to see things that I’ve seen but we have this odd obsession with vicarious experiences that is not doing us any favors. I’ve almost stopped taking pictures altogether, again drawing gasps of “What if you forget something!?!?”

I’ll just go back.
