Can We Disband the NFL?

Let me start by making two admissions.

  1. I love NFL Football games. The actual Sunday product the league puts out is outstanding. Game days are fun.
  2. I probably fit the demographic of the average NFL fan.

Now- I hate the NFL. You might wonder why, and it’s as simple as this- saturation. I hate the draft combines. I hate sports talk radio talking about it all the time. I hate ESPN covering it all the time. I hate the commissioner. I hate that players are suspended for deflating footballs and smoking some weed. I hate how they’ve watered down the big hits that used to be fun. I hate that football is now on half the nights of the week during the season. I hate the frenzy around NFL free agency. I hate most of the pre-season (week four is kinda cool, those guys are competing for jobs). I hate training camp. I dislike the commissioner on a personal level. I dislike most of the owners and most of the coaches. I don’t even love a lot of players.

Fortunately, all the BS I don’t like will fade to real games soon, and that is the part of the NFL that I usually like. Even so, I don’t even feel interested in them this year, as the league has just completely turned me off. They make a lot of money, I get it, so nothing will change. I’ll just say that I wish the NFL as we know it wouldn’t be anymore. I could do without 90% of their garbage.
