50 Life Lessons Learned this Year

 2013 Edition — Part 1


  1. You can’t have it all so enjoy and appreciate what you do have.
  2. We all make mistakes. Even when we think we are infallible. It’s what you learn from them each year that continues to make you a stronger and better person.
  3. Time is the most precious commodity in the world. Value it and use it wisely. Do not look back and ever say I wish I had done this.
  4. Serendipity.
  5. Be your own doctor sometimes. If your not feeling well it’s most often mental. You can solve your sickness on your own.
  6. Age is just a number never get that twisted.
  7. Dancing is communicating.
  8. Take Photos and Get into as many photos as you can. Read this line again in 20 years and be glad you took this advice.
  9. You never have everything and when you do have everything you don’t realize it at the time until it’s gone.
  10. You can’t change what has happened in the past but you can control part of your future so make a difference towards what the future holds.
  11. Keeping track of everything you eat can be an arduous task.
  12. It’s hard to find trustworthy people. Sometimes the truth doesn’t come out till the final hour.
  13. People that say it’s not possible probably haven’t tried hard enough.
  14. Killing people with kindness will drive your enemies crazy.
  15. Hangovers come as a result of cheap liquor.
  16. After dating multiple people you appreciate one persons habits a lot more than the other.
  17. Sometimes you think you know but you have no idea.
  18. People change….
  19. Not everybody can “live the life” and most people don’t want to in reality.
  20. Communication is key but yet it’s easier said then done.
  21. There’s plenty of people out there to support you when you need it most.
  22. Words don’t always come out correctly and can easily be misconstrued.
  23. There’s more good people out there than bad.
  24. Eating healthy is being healthy.
  25. Making friends through friends is the best way to find people on your level.
  26. Too much too see in the world. Don’t sit idle and stuck in an office for one day you will be saying I wish I did that when you could have.
  27. The power of being an intellectual.
  28. You can make close friends quickly and lose them even quicker.
  29. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air teaches us so many valuable lessons even to this day.
  30. I will be very sad the day that the show stops being syndicated.
  31. Do what makes you happy because in the end thats what really matters.
  32. We can’t all be Edisons or Einsteins but they both realized that you don’t fail sometimes you just find 10,000 ways that don’t work and so I continue to find ways that don’t work but the continued streak of attempts keep me going!
  33. Have a Google hangout it’s fun to see somebody's face when you’re speaking to them.
  34. Time flies. Each year seems to get shorter and shorter.
  35. Just because somebody says that “this is my dream” does not mean that they actually want that dream to come true.
  36. Elbows can be used as a deadly weapon.
  37. If you live on the beach and vacation to another beach town it’s just not as impressive.
  38. You find it when and where you weren’t looking for it.
  39. Paradise is not where you are but who you are with.
  40. It’s fun to be a kid again sometimes. Go jump in the ball pit or to an amusement park for a day.
  41. Having a cracked iPhone is no fun.
  42. Take as many pictures of the moments that you think you may want to remember forever.
  43. Money is useless if you’re unhappy. Start a charity and give it away you’ll start to feel a LOT better guaranteed.
  44. Corrupt Politics, Racism, and Discrimination are still not cool.
  45. Keep on learning. It’s fun! Take ivy league classes online and get smarter.
  46. Proving the people who believed in you right is so much more satisfying than proving the doubters wrong.
  47. Everybody should read “How To Win Friends and Influence People”.
  48. Non practicing attorneys, lawyers, and those who work because they are passionate about making a difference rock. We need more people like that in this world.
  49. Become genuinely interested in other people & smile!
  50. I live in a fantasy world and it’s okay.
