Are you truly a Godly person? Do you believe that you possess both outward and inward holiness? You may be convinced of your righteousness, but what if you were put through a moment of deep pain like Job?

In the book of Job, we see a man who was considered the richest and greatest in all the east. But when Satan challenged his faithfulness, God allowed Job to suffer, and suffer he did. He was covered in weeping sores, sitting on a garbage heap outside of town.

Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with severe boils from the sole of his foot to the top of his head. And Job took a piece of pottery to scrape himself while he was sitting in the ashes,” (Job 2:7–8).

Did this suffering prove that Job was only Godly for personal gain? The devil thought so. The devil said that if he attacked Job’s skin then that would prove that Job only is godly because of what he can personally get out of the relationship with God.

However, God had examined Job’s heart and proclaimed him blameless and upright. But the bigger question is, could God be wrong? Is God not the ultimate truth? If Job had cursed God, then God would be proven a liar.

This is a profound statement that should shake you to your core. It means that your faith is not just about outward appearances, but about what is in your heart. It means that your faith must be tested and proven true.

So, I ask you, are you truly Godly, or are you just pretending? Are you willing to suffer for your faith, to endure pain and hardship, and still remain faithful to God? This is the true test of your faith.

Pause for a moment and examine your life and your faith. Ask yourself, are you genuinely devoted to God or merely going through the motions? Don’t wait until it’s too late to find out. The time to answer this question is now.
