Are you ready for a journey through the pages of an extraordinary letter?

A letter that holds within its verses the very essence of the gospel, penned by a man driven by an unquenchable desire to visit the church in Rome. The apostle Paul longed for this opportunity, but fate denied him, time and time again.

Yet, from this longing and disappointment, a profound blessing was born — a letter that has resonated with believers for centuries. It is a privilege beyond measure to delve into the words of this timeless epistle.

Brace yourself, for as we explore the opening verses of Romans, we will encounter a depth and richness that defy my humble commentary. Any attempt to dissect the glory of this letter is a feeble offering in comparison to its magnificence.

Paul, the humble servant of Christ Jesus, penned these words — a man called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, “Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God…through whom we have received grace and apostleship,” (Romans 1:1,5).

In his obedience, Paul exemplifies the surrender and submission that should define our lives as Christians. He embraced the role of a bondservant, wholly devoted to carrying out the will of his Master.

Such devotion stems from the immense grace he received, a grace that permeates every fiber of his being. Paul’s words bear the weight of divine inspiration, as he imparts spiritual wisdom as an apostle commissioned by God Himself.

When we enter into a relationship with Christ, a profound transformation occurs. The life of God infuses our very soul, igniting a fire within us that has the power to turn the world upside down.

This is the message that captivated the early church, the message they cherished and proclaimed with fervor. Oh, how thrilling it is to hold in our hands this letter, bearing the gospel straight from the highest authority!
