I would go one step further and say that our “focused” mode is actual two different states: functional and creative.
You could be focused on doing functional items such as routine tasks at work, cleaning, personal accounting, preparing a report for your boss, etc. But if someone asked you to mold a realistic-looking horror movie monster out of Play-Doh, we’d be stuck.
The focus required to go from A to B to C is different than what’s needed to go from A to B2 to C1.
