Recently I applied for a job just outside the California Bay Area, only to get sticker shock when I perused apartment prices: I’d be looking at around $2,400/month for a one bedroom. I work in a tech-related field and could technically afford it, but I wondered, how do students, teachers, etc. pay these bills?
