If I recall correctly, you wrote a piece a while ago about how the Earth’s tidal friction in pushing the moon’s orbit slightly further away every year.

If we accelerated the Earth’s rotation, would it push it’s orbit further from the Sun? Or or if we slowed the Sun’s rotation would there be a similar result?

How orbital tidal friction forces change moon orbit radius seems really counter intuitive to me. Are there zero gravity experiments that can further demonstrate this on ISS?
