I’m a bit disappointed in Medium for publishing this, not because of it’s subject, but rather its lack of depth. Statements like “most of us believe in survival of the fittest”. What is fittest is obviously defined in retrospect. Who was the fittest can’t be determined until after the fact. A person like the late physicist Hawkins looks pretty fit in a whole lot of ways, but only because the general culture has evolved to the point where his qualities are appreciated. And what about cooperation? Has any large project ever gotten anywhere without massive amounts of cooperation? It’s the refinement of our systems of governance that is needed, not the praising and extolling of a really worn out system. A very narrow article that is truly undeserving of being published in Medium, which up to now I’ve had a high opinion of.
