This Has To Happen Before Virtual Reality Can Succeed

I just read an article on The Upworthiest by Helen Situ, and was disgusted, but not terribly surprised, at the responses of too many so-called men.

First, on behalf of men who don’t hold the same opinion as those scumbags, I apologize. Obviously, they are fools, and Karma can be brutal. If it wouldn’t hurt their daughters so badly, I’d love to see the look on their faces if someone spoke to their daughters, or grandmothers, in the same manner. I can only imagine they would go ballistic!

I’m not a gamer, and don’t even know for sure what VR programming is (I assume virtual reality). But I am a dad, & great-grandpa with grand-daughters, and that attitude must stop. I can assure those scumbags that if I heard them talk to any of the ladies in my life, I’d unscrew their heads and shit down their throats.

I don’t care about their stupid fears or phobias, they are wrong on every level. If we can put women in space, in the cockpits of aircraft, in surgery rooms (two female doctors saved my life a year ago), classrooms, pulpits, and boardrooms, I feel confident that they can also bring something positive to the gaming world. By definition, it’s a game, for God’s sake. I wouldn’t trust one of those male jerks to scrape the dog crap off my boots. (I refuse to call them men, as a real man would never stoop so low.)

Anyhow, I just wanted to say that those fools do not speak for me, my son, or any of the men I associate with. Don’t let the bastards get you down ladies & keep fighting. I’m sorry you have to fight, but don’t give in to scumbags like those guys.

All the best!
