Good satire must be based on core truth, or it is just partisan slander. When SNL “satirized” Palin as a blithering idiot who thought she could see Russia from her house, that was not satire, because no successful governor is a blithering idiot, believe what you will about her vice-presidential qualifications. When SNL portrayed President Ford as a clumsy fool who couldn’t walk across the room without falling over, that was not satire, because Ford was among the most athletic of our Presidents. These were simply partisan slanders.
Your cartoons are not good satire, nor funny. They simply express, in cartoon form, your biased opinion. Clinton’s transgressions were/are not as bad as some Republicans make out, but if she would just have owned up at the start, owned up to what we all know to be true anyway, none of this would have played out as it has.
We all know it was wrong to pretend that Libya was not a failure, that al Qaeda was not resurgent, that the video had much to do with the attack. And we know the pretense that it was so was to aid Obama’s reelection and Hillary’s reputation regarding her policies in Libya. We all know it; if they had just admitted it, it would all have been done and in the past. But they didn’t admit it, and they keep up the pretense that it isn’t so. So the farce goes on.
Like they say, it isn’t the crime, it’s the coverup.
