The vision of the military is subject to the vision of the Commander-in-Chief, which currently distrusts strong US power assertively employed. And the short tenure of our Secretaries of Defense has not contributed to sound, internally consistent military vision.

It does not look good going forward. The withdrawal of US power and influence has created space for the ascendancy of our adversaries and enemies. The next administration will not be in full control for another two years, by which time the world will no longer have a superpower. The era of Pax Americana is over, and deliberately done.
