There is no more nonsensical a phrase than “diversity is our strength”. It is truly Orwellian.
Having a healthy variety of ideas for how a society ought to proceed next is a good thing; one might call that “diversity”. Having some in a society appreciate opera while others like rock, that would be healthy. Having a healthy discussion about how much control we ought to allow private social media companies to exert on what political speech they will allow us to see, that discussion is needed and would be healthy.
Diversity within a common culture and a common history and common values and common principles and common notions of government and politics and common ideas of proper behavior and civil decorum, diversity within all that commonality has value.
But that is NOT the kind diversity that is injected into European societies by borders thrown open to millions of people whose cultures are toxic to European culture; who despise the Western values of those Western societies to such an extent that they collect in ghettoes where the native people of those Western societies are in danger if they enter; whose social values permit using young girls for sex and permit rape of women because those women don’t observe “proper” modes of dress and behavior; who are quite happy to live off the largesse of the hard work of people of the host country; who bring into those societies acid attacks and machete attacks and grenade attacks as legitimate retribution for perceived ills done by the host nation’s foreign policy; who fervently wish to create parallel systems of law and justice to apply to their parallel but separate little territories; who view government as an extension of religion.
That kind of diversity is a destroyer of commonality, of community, of shared society, of safety. That kind of diversity makes the native Britons of London unsafe in London, and the young girls of Rotherham unsafe outside their homes. That kind of diversity is the funhouse mirror that sees all cultures as equal and all principles and values as equal, and produces fragmentation of society into fiefdoms hostile to each other. You cannot “go to the core of who we are as human beings” when each of the cultures that cross those open borders to set up their distinct communities have inimical conceptions of human beings and human society.
It’s simply amazing that you can’t see the destruction of European culture that you have set in motion. You are so fixated on your vision of Utopia that you can’t see it spoiling before your eyes.
