Bring your own team (BYOT), a new hiring method?

I’ve tried getting hired as a team (my coworker blogged about it at: There was a considerably amount of interest, but in the end no takers.

Besides the financial aspect (very few companies can afford such a big step), it became very clear that bringing an entire cross-functional team would be extremely disruptive and would meet with some resistance.

Also, although the team worked very well together within the context in which it was created, talking with other companies also brought differences to the surface. Even if we had moved together, I doubt if that would have lasted very long in a different context.
