Remastered jazz tracks “Blood” and “Liar’s Poker” now available

In 2005 I embarked on a solo jazz recording project called “Rick Sparks Trio.” Striving to explore Thelonious Monk’s concept that all the feeling & passion in a song only truly exists during the initial moments of creation, I produced an album of tracks limited to three instruments each and which were recorded as they were being improvised. That album was titled “Electric” and was released through online outlets, but I hardly promoted it because the sound quality of the instruments I had access to at the time were sub-par due to a low studio budget.

Last year I began remastering the tracks for inclusion on a forthcoming extended edition of my 2014 album “Jazz.” Two of the tracks are currently available to hear on Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
