Ryu Soo-young Daily Life
The Korean wave that happen in the last few years made Korean culture known to other countries, especially in the entertainment industry, including music and drama. Because of that, a lot of people become aware of and know Korean actors, actresses, and idols. Ryu Soo-young is one of them.
How I Know Ryu Soo-young
Ryu Soo-young (born Eo Nam-seon on September 5, 1979) is a Korean actor that debuted in 1998. He has a few films and dramas. To be honest, I know him and become his fan not because of any of his films and dramas, but from Korean variety shows that I often watch while I eat, Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant. It's a variety show where celebrities have a cooking battle based on a theme. The winning dishes then will be sold as a meal kit across Korea.
There are three things that made him my role model. First, he is a good cook, kind to others, and a loving husband and good dad.
Good cook
In the variety show that I mentioned before, Ryu Soo-young has won 6 times, the second-most wins in the show. His first winning dish, Chi Chee Chicken gained a lot of interest in Korea. Here’s a clip on his first win.
In the show, he is also known to have wide knowledge about food and cooking-hack. On top of that, his explanation is really easy to understand. There is even a segment where he taught others about his knowlegde.
Kind to Others
In his normal daily life, Ryu Soo-young is elected as the representative of his neighborhood. He is known to be a helpful and kind man in the neighborhood. He often helps and gives presents to others, including the crew staff that shoots him. He is gain the nickname “hungry staff’s mother” because he always treats the crew.
Loving husband and a good dad.
It’s also wide-known in the show how much he loves his family. He often talks sweetly about his wife, Park Ha-sun, one of the most beautiful actresses in Korea. He often bought gifts for his wife and cook for her. Others in the show often said that his wife, Park Ha-sun get a jackpot by marrying him. In addition to that, he is also a good dad. He took care of his daughter when his wife goes to work. He also often thought about his daughter when developing recipes so that his daughter eats a lot because kid can be a picky eater.
Closing
It’s kinda sad and funny at the same time because I admire him not because of his main works, but his normal daily life. But I can’t help to admire him and set him as my role model when I get married when he is that good. Maybe the other thing that made me admire him is because of my love for food.
