A salad is a dish consisting of mixed of small pieces of food, usually featuring vegetables. Salad may contain virtually any type of ready to eat food. There are number of salad which has different types of ingredient use in it i.e. appetizer salad, main course salad, dessert salad.

There are different of salad i.e. green salad, vegetable salad, bound salad, main course salad, fruit salad, dessert salad, composed salad. Every salad has its own method of making and has different ingredient use in it.

Sauces for salad are often called “dressing”. The concept of salad varies across culture. In western culture, there are two basic types of salad dressing. Vinaigrette is a mixture of salad oil and vinegar, often flavored with herbs, spices, salt, pepper, sugar and other ingredient.

Popular salad garnishing are nuts, bacon bits, garden beet, bell pepper, sliced cucumber, sliced mushroom, sliced red onion, radish, sunflower seeds, real or artificial crab meat and cherry tomatoes.

A salad is a serving in a meal that includes leaf vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, and arugula. Uncooked and cold cooked vegetable that sliced into small pieces and then mixed with leaf vegetables.

Some people also add other food such as bacon, chicken, grated cheese, tuna, pasta, olives, cooked potatoes, rice or beans.
