She paints her imagination on canvas with splashes of watercolor. Her imageries are mostly dream-like and illusionary with a unique sensitivity. She has been greatly inspired by the folk themes of India. She has blended her work perfectly with the touches of folk idioms without losing the innate charm of her work. Her works speaks volumes about her love for nature. Although she is not a feminist, still her concern for woman is well evident in her works like you can see in “The Beauty”. She has taken part in multiple exhibitions in and outside the country.

The paintings of her depicts the time she has spent in France. Mostly autobiographical, each one has its one story to unfold. She has developed a unique style of her own which is greatly influenced by the French impressionists. Her imagery shows the present condition of the world. She has been deeply moved by the sudden urbanization. The concern, the discomfort she has is well reflected in her work that portrays fossilization of nature and fish. You can find it in her work Cocoon.

Jayashree has exhibited her works in India as well as Sweden and her work can be seen in the National gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. She has been awarded with quite a few prestigious awards too. She speaks about her painting,“ I try to paint and remain true to my understanding, not just emotions or feeling, but understanding. Understanding is very different from simply feeling something. Every bit, every image returns. I need to concentrate very hard when I paint.”And that truly surmises her paintings.

Swati Pasari

A young promising artist of Kolkata, she has a distinct style of painting. Born in a well known business family, her parents encouraged her to take on this field of art as a profession. She started painting in 2007 and by now she has been successful in creating an own niche for herself in the landscape of contemporary art. In her childhood days, she loved to visit exhibitions and later she understood her inclination for sculptures. Painting is a passion for her and she finds it an object of meditation which will provide peace to all.

A pranic healer, she has been greatly influenced by the spirit. She feels in this violent stricken world the only refuge to peace and solitude can be through the world of art and she wants people to accompany her in this journey. Swati’s works inspires positivity that she searches all around her. Her works speaks of human beings who are engaged in dancing, meditation or doing household chores and you can find a sense of tranquility and positive energy reverberating in her paintings, like you can find in The Hidden Joy of Money.

The thought of transformation and merging the physical with the metaphysical, is what her works speaks of mainly.
