Sam Altman Returns As OpenAI CEO Within 5 Days

Samuel Harris Altman’s exit from OpenAI, an American artificial intelligence research startup, has garnered attention in the past few days.

Sam Altman and other employees were let go by OpenAI during the turmoil. Later, Microsoft, the largest supporter of OpenAI, announced that it will choose Sam Altman to lead a new internal AI project. But the tale doesn’t end here. Following Sam Altman’s exit from the company, nearly every employee at OpenAI made threats to leave and work for Microsoft.

Techworld was taken aback by Altman’s abrupt resignation from OpenAI. Along with that, he joined Microsoft as the team leader for advanced AI research. If Sam wasn’t brought back by the board of OpenAI, over 740 out of 770 workers threatened to resign the artificial intelligence startup.

Now, OpenAI has decided to reinstate Sam Altman as CEO. “We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam to return to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo,” OpenAI stated on social networking platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Sam Altman’s return to OpenAI has been confirmed. “I’m excited to return to OpenAI and build on our strong partnership with msft (Microsoft),” he wrote on X.

The choice was made, according to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who had just hired Sam Altman, to create a “more stable, well-informed, and effective governance” within OpenAI.
