How to Activate Solver in Excel

You might wonder where the solver is. Why in my excel there is no Solver? Here is a quick tutorial on how to bring up Solver in your Spreadsheet.

Before we start, you may want to check whether you have activated the solver or not. You can go to Data, and in Analyze, you may find Solver. See the picture below:

If you have Solver like the picture above, you can skip this tutorial and happy optimizing :).

**Notes: I’m using Office 365 Desktop, but it may similar to the previous version.

How to Activate Solver?

Let’s just start,

  1. Open your Excel, and start creating a blank spreadsheet. You will get like this.

2. Click Files → More… → Option. You will have this window.

3. Click on Add-ins → On Manage, select Excel Add-ins → Click Go. See picture below.

4. Tick Solver Add-in → Then OK. We’re done. You will see the solver under Data Menu, in Analyze section.
