This is about my first solo travel to Hampi, Karnataka, India. Actually I hadn’t plan well to visit this place earlier. But suddenly I felt like going alone this place as my cousin brother is near to Hampi, so he arranges me a place to stay, even though I travel alone. So, that is not much a deal for me to manage me stay and everything myself.

Hampi is situated in east-central of Karnataka, UNESCO wold heritage site , also known as Group of Monuments. Hampi has a lot to say about the history of India. It is about 376 km from Bangalore. The closest railway station is Hospet , which is about 13 km from Hampi.

As it is my first experience it is really exciting and thrilling for me, where I felt that everyone should travel once alone to get the experience in their lifetime. actually I my cousin brother is staying in Bellary, its about 60 km away from Hampi. So I have to come from there to Hospet which is the near town to Hampi. So I catch a bus from Bellary to Hospet at 8 in the morning. From there I take bus to Hampi. Then I could able to get Hampi by 10 in morning.

Then when I get down there I felt so annoyed by travel guides and they asked me about, “where I am coming ?”. They told me about taking me the whole place in autorickshaw and show the whole place in one day at a particular rate. But rest of all I had already decided that I should be going walk and everything as I can. They had also try to disappoint me by telling that it is about 40km to walk and that is not possible to do that.

I felt certain insecurity at the time of arrival but lately I could able to make up my mind and enjoy myself. Certain times some people are staring at me awkwardly thinking themselves that whether I am alone or a lost one. But these types of thinking will really benefit me to feel more stronger myself.

Hampi is a place which tells a lot of history about India and its culture. I felt like its a typical place where you can travel solely and it is open to its extend for people to explore it widely as much as we needed it.

The above temple is Vitthala temple represent the highest watermark of the Vijayanagara style of art and architecture. It is the one of the largest temple in the period 1422-26 AD. The stone chariot, at the entrance, a reproduction of a professional wooden chariot, the vehicle of Lord Vishnu. The pillars of this temple is known as musical pillars which can produce musical notes. A pillar has a sculpture of a Yogavarda Narasimha and various other forms.

Hampi is situated with lots of different temples likes Virupaksha temple, Hemakuta group of temples, Krishna Temple, Achutarya temple, and many other. We can also see many monuments built by different rulers.

The grand elephant stable

This is a great elephant stable build in earlier era and that seems so luxurious even for the animals treated by kingdom at that time. Its really nice to see and it tells the history very well.

Queens bath

This is also known as lotus Mahal and shows a great architect. There are several ruins here which are among the places to visit in Hampi. So that Hampi is also trying to tell us certain stories about the earlier period. Other main monuments to visit in Hampi are Zanana Enclosure, Daara Dibba, Monkey Temple, Monolith Bull, Stone Doors and many other things that can bring cheers to those loving history.

Hampi is one of must visit places in India. Those who loving to visit India should go to Hampi where they can find the old history of India. I expect that you could able to do that. Thank you.
