Addressing ethical and legal issues using social media in work place can be hard. Social media is something that allows for different opportunities within companies. Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram allow easy access for a company or organization to connect and communicate with their target audience. It allows for news to be spread to the world, allows the public to view what a company or organization is currently working on or what message they are trying to spread. Many different opportunities can be obtained through social media outlets.

I personally believe that company workers have the right to use time on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc.; as long as it is relevant to what the company is currently doing or if they are trying to promote something. If an employee is using their work time to tweet, make a status on Facebook for personal reasons, that is unacceptable and inappropriate.

After reading about the social media terms of use, I believe that it was intended to both empower employees as well as restricting employees. These terms are a great base that allow employees communicate with the target audience but also has restraint. What I really liked the most was reading that the social media channels are not a place to resolve issues, complaints or suggestions. When employees are on their company social media sites, they are always representing their company name. It is nice to read that there are rules and regulations that must be followed to keep the social media sites appropriate and respected.
