With its screen sharing availability on desktop, FB messenger is upgrading in providing the same functionality to IOS and Android users 1–1 or group call up to 8 participants.

Adding screen sharing to both Messenger video calls and Facebook’s new video chat platform, Messenger Rooms, help Facebook better compete with popular services like Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.

Facebook said “Screen sharing allows you to scroll through your photos, surf social media or shop together online with friends more easily than before”

One more thing the company will soon add the ability for room creators to determine whether to limit the ability to screen share to just themselves or make it available to all participants on the call.

“Today, we’re excited to share that we’re expanding the availability of Messenger’s screen sharing feature in video calls and Messenger Rooms to our mobile apps…

We know people are trying to stay connected more than ever and screen sharing is the latest feature we’re rolling out to bring people closer together.”

So let us see how to use Facebook Messenger screen sharing on your phone

  • Open the Messenger app on your mobile
  • Start a video call by selecting 1 or more contracts and tap the camera icon
  • Once on the call, swipe up on the toolbar at the bottom
