What a fantastic look into your partnership. Having been a part of one failed and one successful startup, having an idea on what to look for in a co-founder really resonated with me. It’s a painful experience when you get it wrong — friendships are lost, feelings and egos are hurt, money evaporates and a one promising idea dies. Oh and somewhere in the depths of startup hell an angel investor loses its wings.
Finding the right co-founder is hard but essential to the survival of your venture. When you get it right it’s like capturing lightening in a bottle. It happens rarely, is still fraught with uncertainty and difficulty beyond measure, but stay the course. Every good partnership will be tested and like with good startup ideas, good partnerships can make it even when the odds are stacked against it.
Just make sure you both like the same beer.
