Hi thank you for your article! I wasn’t familiar with this issue before reading your post, so I appreciate that you shared your experiences and thoughts on this topic.
However, I find myself disagreeing with your statement: “women shouldn’t be called “too emotional” for doing their job”
I believe if anyone (regardless of gender) behaved unprofessionally at work by being too emotional, then they should be called out for it. Crying, outbursts, yelling, etc. are not appropriate in the workplace and should not be accepted (You assert that employers should “Stop viewing emotions as a hindrance to success at work”…).
However making fun of people’s feelings, treating women and men differently for the same behavior, criticizing women for their tendency of being emotional (even if they are professional and behave as everyone else) is wrong and should be stopped.
