Muqarna

--

These are the contours of divinity and grace
Senses of holiness in every single brick, stone
Then why does the sanctitude remain unknown?
You were the elegant muqarna built in my mind
The response that protected me, revealed to me
Every single word as the sweetest verse I heard
But what we never had was the devotion it takes
To let each other hear sounds of our own heartbeats
So now whenever I see the beauty of the grand iwan
I remember that its divinity also has to be drawn
From the hands of the architect, the sounds of life
Before it is blessed by the One who reigns above
