There’s no GPS for life

Over the last few days, we’ve spent some time understanding how to create a map for our autonomous vehicle. It’s far from easy.

If it is so hard to teach a computer to accurately map a road, imagine how difficult it is for us to accurately map our futures.

We spend a lot of time trying to figure out what we’re going to be doing in 5, 10, 15 years.

It’s impossible to see into the future, and yet, we spend our energy trying to do just that.

Instead, just like our vehicle, perhaps it’s worth not outlining the map specifically, but the guidelines for the route.

Everyone’s addicted to something

Find what you’re addicted to; let it become the governing factor in your progress. That’s why so many people will give you the advice of trying lots of things, it’s to find your addiction.

Addiction drives commitment, towards your goals. Instead of trying to plan out how to reach those goals, it’s more worthwhile to accept the opportunities that arise in the present which are in line with your goals.

There might be a destination on your map but unfortunately (fortunately), there’s no program that can tell you it’s route. It’s not your job to figure it out, it’s your job to live it.
