Catch Rajini Murugan at a theatre near you!

A film that promises to be an entertaining comedy drama, Rajini Murugan is directed by Ponram, who is famous for his work on the film Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, which released in 2014. The film has Sivakarthikeyan in a lead role, along with Keerthi Suresh, while the rest of the cast includes Soori, Samuthirakani, Rajkiran, G. Gnanasambandam and Robo Shankar.

The film was announced in August 2013, when director Ponram came out with the news of the film. It was said that the film will star Sivakarthikeyan, and will be produced by Lingusamy. Balasubramaniam was chosen for the cinematography, while Imman was picked for the music and audio of the film. It was also predicted that Siva was to play the role of a real estate broker in the film.

While the news of the heroine was kept under wraps, Nazriya Nazim and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were in talks for the role of the lead female, but later, the part went to Lakshmi Menon. It is said that her role was of a street toughie, a real feisty woman, and has her brawling with other women in the film. Soori has also been chosen to play Siva’s loyal sidekick, while Rajkiran will be essaying the role of Siva’s grandfather. Actor director Samuthirakani was also signed, to play the film’s chief antagonist. Actor Robo Shanker will be seen in a short cameo, while finally, the heroine will be played by Keerthi Suresh.
The Tamil movie has been edited by Vivek Harshan, and produced by production company Thirrupathi Brothers, in association with Eros International. The film will hit screens in July 2015, mostly looking at a release date of July 17th, 2015.
The soundtrack of the film has already been hailed as a crowd pleaser, and has been created by D. Imman. This is the third time the composer is working with Siva on a film. The lyrics have been written by Yugabharati, who is known for his work in South Indian cinema. Siva has also lent his voice to one of the songs of the film, called Rajinimurugan, which is the title track of the film. Some other songs include Un Mele Oru Kannu, Aavi Parakkum Teakadai, Yennama Ipadi Panreengalaema, Jigiru Jigiru and more.
The film revealed its first look in April 2015, at the Vijay Awards, where it received a lot of praise and acclaim from the industry. The audio of the film was released on the 7th of June, and the film itself will release on the 17th of July, on the eve of Ramadan.
