Live entertainment giant Cirque du Soleil will travel to India for the first time this November for the world premiere of its latest acrobatic extravaganza, ‘BAZZAR’.

Here’s why we’re absolutely excited about the show.

‘BAZZAR’ is an extraordinary spectacle the starts where it ends and ends where it begins.

It’s an acrobatic game set in a performance lab filled with different structures with which the artists build and bring to life the most vibrant of scenes.
In its own way, the show pays homage to the early days of Cirque du Soleil.

“‘Where did Cirque start from?’ was my main inspiration.”

“I thought about this group of artists and I thought about Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix and how they all got together in the original Big Top and just would create. I wanted to watch a troupe of artists create something and the audience would follow them through the creative process.”

  • Susan Gaudreau, Director

Like all other Cirque du Soleil shows, ‘BAZZAR’ tells a story.

It’s the story of a troupe of acrobats, dancers and musicians who led by their Maestro, create a whimsical universe that you’re invited to be part of.

Though smaller than other typical Big Top touring shows, ‘BAZZAR’ is still very much a Cirque du Soleil production at heart, and will feature everything the company is known for — magical lighting, live music, striking costumes, audacious acrobatics and stunning performances.

It will also be the very first show in the history of Cirque du Soleil to feature the Indian sport of mallakhamb.

“I think the Indians will love what we do,” says Gaudreau, who came up with the show’s original storyline.

‘BAZZAR’, continuing Cirque du Soleil’s quest for new markets, will also travel to a number of smaller countries in the Middle East and then to the Greek islands, if all goes according to plan.

But for now, its first stop is Mumbai.
