Serenity Movie: Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway Reunite Onscreen After Four Years

Oscar winning actors Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway had starred together in the 2014 sci-fi Interstellar, directed by the one and the only Christopher Nolan. Matthew McConaughey Now, four years down the line, the terrific duo are uniting for a neo-noir murder mystery. Apart from Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, the movie also stars Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou and Jeremy Strong in lead roles.
The plot revolves around Baker, who is the captain of a fishing boat and a stoic man of few words. He lives in the Carribean and one day, he meets his estranged wife Karen in the bar. She then instructs Baker to kill her current husband and feed him off to the sharks. She makes this request as her husband had a history of marital abuse.
After that, the movie shifts to elements of Baker’s past life which haunts and mocks him. The movie can reminisce one of the good old time of thriller films, like the ones made by Alfred Hitchcock. Serenity can easily be categorized as a neo-noir, filled with elements of mystery, murder and conspiracy. Expect secrets unveil and veil themselves in every frame of the movie. Battles between what’s right and wrong, creepy strangers, a boat out in the ocean, a murder plot and much more awaits viewers in this tightly framed movie. The movie is set in an island where everyone knows everyone and somehow evokes vibes similar to Spielberg’s 2010 movie Shutter Island.
Serenity is written and directed by Steven Knight and the movie is produced by Greg Shapiro and Guy Heeley. Serenity would be Steven Knight’s third movie after the Tom Hardy starrer Locke and Jason Statham starrer Redemption. Steven Knight has also co-written the upcoming movie, The Girl In The Spider’s Web.
The Matthew McConaughey- Anne Hathaway starrer is set to release worldwide on October 19th. This movie could be one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year, owing to the stellar star cast, the writing and the editing.
