Watch the EIC take on Bollywood

Since the comedy scene is growing in the country, many comedians are coming together and forming comedy groups of their own. This collaboration helps sell more tickets for the shows as people get to see their favourite stand up comedians on one stage. Some of the most popular comedy groups are All India Bakchod, East India Comedy Weirdass Comedy and Shitz ’n’ Giggles. While the AIB has comedians like Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya and Gursimran Khamba, Weirdass Comedy is mainly backed by Vir Das.

Coming to the most popular of the lot, the East India Comedy boasts of talented comedians like Sapna Verma, Sahil Shah, Sorabh Pant, Atul Khatri and Azeem Banatwalla. The group is now back with an all-new show called EIC vs Bollywood. The show will be similar to their Ghanta Awards, and Sapan, Sahil, Azeem, Atul and Sorabh promise to bring the house down with their stand up material. Apart from the jokes, the show will also feature some panel discussions and songs, both of which will be outright funny. The main topics for discussion will be the Chopra sisters — Priyanka and Parineeti, Salman Khan, Madhur Bhandarkar, Remo D’souza, Taran Adarsh and lastly the Censor Board.

The first show will be held at the NCPA on Valentine’s Day. For those who have other plans, need not worry as multiple shows will be held next month. If you can’t make it for the show at NCPA, you can catch a show on 4th or 5th March. There will be four shows held over those two days and the venue for the same will be the Canvas Laugh Club at the Palladium Mall.

For those who don’t know, this stand up comedy group is known for their show Men Are From Bars and the Ghanta Awards. The former is a show in which the men discuss their marital problems and openly mock their life partner. Coming to the Ghanta Awards, it is an annual show that takes a dig on the worst of Bollywood in the previous year. It got really popular and a lot of Bollywood celebrities attended it. In fact, they even managed to get Sonam Kapoor to accept a Ghanta Award for the film Mausam. This was very sporting of the actress.

Like mentioned above, EIC vs Bollywood is just like the Ghanta Awards. And since the group hasn’t announced the Ghanta Awards for this year, one can safely say that their latest show is a replacement for the awards.

Summary:

EIC vs Bollywood will definitely be a hilarious show. If you are in the city, make sure that you attend it. Also, don’t be surprised if you get to see some Bollywood stars at it.
