Happy September-The Month Of Falling Into A Better You!

This week I decided to read “The Confidence Code” by Katty Kay & Claire Shipman, this book is an in-depth look at the code to grow our confidence.

I will be discussing:

1. Building Up Your Confidence

2. Strengthen Your Inner Self

3. Bullet-Proof Confidence

And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: Just Stop Doubting & Judging Yourself” & FREE Download: September Desktop Wallpapers.

If I could sum up this book into one word it would have to be the word Confidence: a feeling of self-assurance and belief in yourself that can’t be wavered.

1. Building Up Your Confidence

Confidence can’t be bought you have to work to build and strengthen it, if you don’t believe in yourself how can you expect others to. Great leaders have to be confident to inspire others and to push through the hard times, but they first have to get past their own self-limiting beliefs.

In order to get comfortable and grow your confidence you have to get uncomfortable to get closer to being comfortable in tough situations. Speak to yourself positively and watch how it boosts your mood and helps you to focus on what’s most important to you. Its easier to overcome self-doubt by realizing that only you can stop yourself from reaching your fullest potential, you just have remove the barriers that are holding you back.

2. Strengthen Your Inner Self

When we think of a confident personwe all have our own version of what that looks like, with each step they take they command the room. They appear to perfect and often ooze success in everything they do, here are some ways that we can all become that confident person we think of. Not being afraid to speak up or questioning the norm, without having to argue with everyone.

They don’t say yes to everything they only reserve it for what they care about, they use positive words in conversation instead of negative ones. They create goals and craft a plan to make them a reality, confidence is crafted from the inside out and wearing a power outfit to give you a boost. Body language without using power poses like Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman, but they can help you fake it until you feel confident. They don’t slouch or avoid eye contact, they stand tall and smile through it no matter hard it is.

3. Bullet-Proof Confidence

No matter how strong you are, people will still try to tear you down, you have to make the decision that you will rise above people’s negative behaviorsagainst you. Don’t allow them to drag you into the same dark placethey are in when you who you are and who you want to be.

The lies or opinions people have of you shouldn’t phase you at all, because they don’t match who you really are. You stand up for yourself by trying to stay neutral to avoid confrontation and not allowing your emotions to take over you. Remove yourself from the toxic situation, you don’t want to give any more chances to attack you, respond once and retreat.

Would I Buy Or Read Again?

Can I see myself re-reading Katty Kay & Claire Shipman’s book “The Confidence Code” again? Yes! Can I see myself even purchasing “The Confidence Code”? No, I think that this book was great but not good enough to add to my personal library. If I do read it again I think that I would check it out from the library or listening to the audiobook.

The Question of the Week is inspired by Katty Kay & Claire Shipman’s book “The Confidence Code”. What is your code to confidence?
