Going Vegan D12 — Vietnamese Soup Fail

Well, that’s twice in a row now I’ve failed at this. I thought I was doing not-so-bad.

I went to a Vietnamese soup restaurant, ordered a soup to-go with just veggies and rice noodles. Made it halfway through when a coworker chimes in.

“I thought you were going vegan this month?”

“I am. Why?”

“You know Vietnamese soup broths are made with beef bone, right?”

A quick Google Search confirms it.

Double dammit.

Welp, failed again.

I still finished the soup. I was hungry and not about to toss out $10 in soup and go find another lunch idea.

I tried.

Today will be a short post. I’m off to a social event full of food I won’t be able to eat. I’m getting kinda annoyed by that. Someone said they’d bring a veggie plate so I’ll have something to eat. Their words, not mine.

Thanks, but I’m not a rabbit.

I don’t know what’s more annoying right now; the unknown pitfalls of this diet, or the fact that ‘gluten-free’ plus ‘vegan’ equals ‘Here’s some broccoli and carrots to chew on.’

I’m in such a bad mood today.

I think it’s mostly to do with the diet and lack of sleep.

Thank goodness it’s the weekend. Hopefully I’ll get back on track.

Happy eating!
