Many lovers in relationships find it difficult to believe when their partner tells them they love them. This usually occurs when their acts don’t correspond with their reassuring words. It is common for the relationship to work itself to an end when so many doubts and uncertainties are so prevalent.

What many of us often forget is that the concept of love is different for everyone. Each one of us experiences this affection from divergent angles, oblivious to the take of one’s partner on this subject. This makes it easy to misunderstand their honesty when they claim they feel love. Hence, the appearance that their actions don’t match their feelings.

What is love?

By definition, love is “an intense feeling of deep affection”. It’s a stronger form of like. We can love people, places, objects, goals… Anything, really.

But its meaning in interpersonal relationships is rather subjective.

“Love is respect and trust.”

“Love is giving yourself up to someone else’s happiness.”

“Love is caring.”

“Love is admiration.”

“Love is the desire to touch someone.”

“Love is sacrifice.”
