Why 10 % of people will replace 60% of the remaining jobs in the next few decades
When i was growing up my parents showed me so many jobs i could do when i grow up. So many options to chose from. May it be a small business owner , waiter, restaurant owner, engineer, doctor, scientist, actor.
When i talk about the same to my 5 year old daughter i do the same. She does like some jobs over others like being a fire fighter or being a garbage truck driver or being a doctor(thanks to Doc Mcstuffins off course)
Being in technology i know, by the time she grows up , her options are going to go down drastically. It is very evident that 10 % or less people will develop technology that will replace more than 60 % of the jobs. Where did the remaining jobs go. Well lets assume 30% of the jobs wont be replaced by technology come what may ! Example artists or sportsmen or sportswomen or people who give input to automation example chefs who can specify whats the right ingredients that can then be replicated across various restaurants.
Remaining all jobs that can get automated will get automated in the next few decades.
When i go out i see taxi drivers(u thought uber took jobs away from taxi drivers wait for an year or so all physical uber drivers will loose jobs to self driven taxis), garbage truck drivers, waiters, receptionist, bus drivers, soldiers, construction crew, courier service , checkout counters, baristas , pizza makers, donnut makers, the list goes on and on and on.
People who can invent, innovate and automate will remain in high demand.
