What are we doing here? Do any of us really even know? As we migrate through careers, life, and relationships, the one constant is that while yes, we can have infinite goals and training and wisdom, at the core we are all just winging it. We do not know what the future holds. We do not know what we are doing until we begin, which is the beauty of beginning, and beginning again; starting a new challenge — all one can do is show up with the life experience they have and build from that. New trials and tribulations tend to arise and is part of the challenge of showing up.

The change, the lack of control, the unknowing — showing up is scary! We tend to shy away from a change in routine and the lack of knowing what lies beyond can be hard to stomach. I’ve learned though that even in those most fearful of times, just one little baby step towards the thought of, “Hey, this sounds interesting maybe I should try,” soon turns into, “Hey, I’m doing this and it is hard but look at me go!” The training wheels come off without necessarily realizing it and before we know it we are traveling fast on the high of this new skill. Inevitably there’s a crash and burn period, as this is a new skill and as we touched on before, we don’t really know what we’re doing. There are two parts of beauty in the fall: we never forget how to ride and we can always get back up.

There are two parts of beauty in the fall: we never forget how to ride and we can always get back up.

Eventually, we get back on and ride again, perhaps a little less fast this time — allowing more room for surprises, more time to take the curve a little slower. Through our trials and tribulations we are able to build up an endurance that allows us cruise for miles and gain an ability to temper our speed and brace for whatever conditions arise. Our passion about this experience inspires us to share our experience with others, to rally others who support cause and want to join us in the excitement. Before we know it, we’ve created something meaningful through the slow build of a ritual that while we were in it resembled nothing more than a mere day-to-day grind.

…the slow build of a ritual that while we were in it resembled nothing more than a mere day-to-day grind.

It all happens with one step forward. One baby step at that initial thought that says, “Hey, this might be fun.” Here are RitualCreate we have shown up many times. We have faced disappointment many times. We have got back up and to ride again, many times. And here we are today, showing up. Through the sharing of mementos and notes and skills obtained while on our journey, we share our experience and look forward to learning from your experience. We look forward to building a platform for creators to build together, create together, learn together. It all starts with our first step, creating for ourselves, and being vulnerable enough to share those creations and thoughts. Will you join us on this journey? Will you share your journey alongside us so that in a future day we may building and work together? Welcome to the beginning.
